In an interview with Australia’s “The Project,” which was conducted three days after her controversial loss at the U.S. Open, Williams said, “We were actually just texting each other this morning.” She also added, “We have known each other for a long time, but we really are relying on each other a lot recently.”

She also talked about Markle and Prince Harry‘s epic wedding, “To have such a monumental moment in England, nonetheless of all the places, I felt like we were literally watching history. I feel like in a few years we are going to look back at that moment and it’s going to be so historic. It’s going to be something that people never forget. The whole service was really wonderful, and most of all I just wanted to see my friend be happy. And I think that’s what happened.”

It’s good to hear the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion has a friend like Markle. It sounds as if they both living that Nike motto — as the 36-year-old mom tweeted after she was attacked for her catsuit, “If you don’t dare to try and chase your dreams, you’ll rob yourself the joy of doing it. Don’t just dream it.” See below:
