“Surviving R. Kelly” aired the past 3 nights and exploded on social media. Executive produced by Dream Hampton, the docuseries dived deep into more than two decades of R. Kelly allegedly sexually assaulting children and women. Word is the singer is ready to sue everyone.
TMZ reports, he did not watch the docuseries, however, sources say he is “disgusted.” In addition, “R. Kelly’s team downloaded him on the various people who appeared on the show and he claims he doesn’t even know half of them. He claims the other half hate him for various personal and professional reasons. R. Kelly also claims there were various people who wanted to go on camera and defend him but producers shut them out. The sources say R. Kelly is resolute — as one source put it, ‘He’s going to sue everybody who had anything to do with this.'”
Sounds like Kelly thinks everyone is out to get him, despite proof of a marriage certificate to the late, great Aaliyah in 1994 and a tape of him reportedly urinating on a child.
That said, Aaliyah’s mother, Diane Haughton, said in a statement the day the first episode aired, “Shame on all those involved in this project who thought it kosher to drag Aaliyah’s name into a situation that has nothing to do with her today. Once again, this will not be tolerated.” Haughton also called the accounts “lies and fabrications” that “can not be tolerated and allowed to be spewed from the forked tongues of saboteurs of Aaliyah’s legacy.”
Nonetheless, there were detailed accounts from people in Kelly’s circle, including the singer’s brother, Bruce, who outwardly said Kelly had a “preference” for young girls. In addition, his ex-wife Andrea Kelly, singer Sparkle (the aunt of the 14-year-old in the sex tape) and even his high school music teacher.
