French Senate Bans Burkas In Public

France is one step closer to banning burkas.
The French Senate voted, nearly unanimously, for a bill that prohibits women from wearing the burka-style Islamic veil in public.
The Senate voted 246 to 1 on Tuesday in favor of the legislation, which already passed in the government’s lower chamber.
Those who disagree with the law have 10 days to challenge the ruling in the Constitutional Council watchdog, which is considered unlikely.
