In a meeting with the Sun-Sentinel‘s editorial board Tuesday, Rep. Allen West compared being gay to liking chocolate chip ice cream or riding scooters.
It’s part of his belief that being gay is a “behavior,” and he has frequently said that people “can change their behavior” but that he can’t change something like his skin color.
Now, a local TV station says West told them his comments about gays and ice cream were “taken out of context.”
