Is it some kind of unwritten rule that only people with the last name of Bush or Clinton get to run for president, Barack Obama notwithstanding? We’ve had 2 Bushes and one Clinton in the White House already, and now Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush are being talked about as major contenders for the 2016 race.

Can’t we open up the field a little bit? This is what Roland Martin asked this morning on NewsOne Now, noting that the situation is locking up potential campaign donations. At this rate, would an contender who is not from one of those famous families have a chance?

A caller to the show chimed in: “It would be interesting if Hillary Clinton maybe ran with an African American women or a Hispanic.” Hear the full exchange in the clip below and let us know what you think in the poll at the bottom.

Tune in to “NewsOne Now,” weekdays at 7 a.m.  EST.
