Erica Garner unleashed a series of angry tweets Thursday after learning that Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff considered using the death of her father, Eric Garner, in an op-ed on gun violence, the New York Daily News reports.

She learned about the internal discussion from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s hacked emails released this week by WikiLeaks.

In an email exchange about which cases to include in the op-ed, Clinton’s traveling press secretary Nick Merrill wrote, “I know we have Erica Garner issues but we don’t want to mention Eric at all? I can see her coming after us for leaving him out of the piece.”

Maya Harris, a Clinton senior policy adviser, answered: “Eric Garner not included because not killed by gun violence.”

Garner tweeted: “I’m troubled by the revelation that you and this campaign actually discussed ‘using’ Eric Garner … Why would you want to ‘use’ my dad?”

“These people will co opt anything to push their agenda. Police violence is not the same as gun violence,” continued Garner, who endorsed Bernie Sanders for president.

Eric Garner died when NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo used a chokehold to arrest him in 2014 for selling loose cigarettes.

The News said the Clinton campaign did not respond to questions about Garner’s tweets.
