For some couples, marriage counseling can prove to be pretty rocky, but Jeanwell Napolean (pictured) took his appointment with his wife to a bizarre and violent level. The Florida man allegedly stabbed his unidentified wife with a butcher knife, as his church deacon, Andrea Dallemand, was pulling out of his driveway after counseling them at their home.

Napolean, who was arrested by Port Charlotte police, now faces an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, according to Fox 4.

He and his wife have been married for 19 years and had sought couples counseling from Dallemand in order to help save their rocky union. The church deacon told Fox 4 that when he left the pair, they had been embracing and whispering affectionately to one another with such terms of endearment as, “I love you.” Dallemand said he is baffled by the violent turn that took place as he exited the couple’s driveway.

According to Dallemand, Napolean’s wife let out a blood-curdling scream as her husband allegedly plunged the butcher knife into her chest. When the deacon heard the ruckus, he quickly stopped his car and ran back inside the Napolean’s home where he found the victim laying on the floor with blood stains on her blouse. Dallemand contends that when he glanced at Napolean, he held the knife to himself as if he were going to plunge the weapon into his own chest.

Napolean’s daughter was in the room where the grisly scene took place and she managed to talk her dad into putting down the knife. The 50-year-old man bonded out of jail and is reportedly seeking psychiatric help at a mental health facility.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.  She allegedly asked Dallemand to change the locks of her home and is now fearful of her husband.
