Fla. Mom Accused of Kidnapping Child To Avoid Learning Black History

A Florida mother is accused of kidnapping her two-year-old daughter to avoid having her vaccinated and learning about black history. O.J. Simpson’s close friend and former manager claimed Tuesday that Simpson did not in fact write the controversial book “If I Did It,” which explores how Simpson would have hypothetically carried out the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman if he had actually committed the crime. Simpson’s longtime associate Norman Pardo joined HuffPost Live’s Marc Lamont Hillon the 20th anniversary of the infamous police chase that grabbed the attention of millions as Simpson led the pack in his white Ford Bronco. A former Barclays Center security guard is suing the Brooklyn arena’s security team for $900,000, saying they canned her after she refused to “tame” her natural Afro hairstyle. Tiffany Bryan, 27, of Queens, alleges in her Brooklyn federal court lawsuit that her bosses at AEG Worldwide, the company that polices the arena, relentlessly ridiculed her mane until finally giving her the ax for not reining it in. Read more.

A 14-year-old boy smelled smoke while inside a Fairfield, California, apartment and immediately jumped into action —saving an elderly man and a dog from the fire, officials said Monday. Just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Latrell McCockran was at his friend’s apartment when the four-alarm apartment blaze broke out. A smoky smell hit Latrell first, so he grabbed one of the fire extinguishers. The teen then spotted an elderly, disabled man struggling to get out of a smoke-filled apartment unit.
