A white customer who was caught on video assaulting a Black woman employee at a St. Petersburg, Florida McDonald’s was sentenced to serve jail time for the New Year’s Eve attack.

A Pinellas County judge sentenced 40-year-old Daniel Willis Taylor to serve 60 days behind bars, the Associated Press reported on Friday.
He was charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple battery after he lunged over the counter and grabbed Yasmine James around her collar. Taylor was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and not to go near the restaurant and the workers after he gets out of jail.
The thug became angry when he failed to find a straw and took out his frustration on 20-year-old James.
In the video, Taylor, who is reportedly 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 135 pounds, reaches out and grabs the Black woman who quickly fought back. After the assault, it appears Taylor is still allowed to place his order, even after he clearly attacked an employee. At the end of the video, the thug says, “I was just asking you a f***ing question, b**ch.”
Days later, James broke her silence about the attack.
James told ABC, “I didn’t have any control over my body when he grabbed me. Like I’m scared, like why are you grabbing me, I just didn’t understand his intentions. Even though we were having a verbal conversation, I don’t think it was that for him to grab me.” McDonald’s did not fire her over the incident.
That attack came about two weeks before another racial confrontation at a McDonald’s restaurants in Spring Hill, Florida between a Black customer and a white employee who repeatedly called him the N-word in an encounter that was caught on video.
It was unclear exactly what happened before the video starts. It begins with the customer apparently standing at the drive-through window accusing an employee of using a racial slur against him.
“I don’t give a f**k, ni**er,” the male employee yells, as he stands behind a co-worker who’s apparently on the phone with the police describing the Black man on the other side of the closed drive-through window. Meanwhile, a second woman who the customer says is a manager stands nearby.
The encounter becomes more heated after the customer taunts the male employees about catching him on video using the N-word, yelling that he’s going to get fired.
“I will f**k you up, you f***ing ni**er,” the enraged male employee screams through the closed window.
“You’re getting fired too because you’re a manager,” the customer says. “You’re supposed to handle this differently.”
The franchise owner reportedly fired one of his employees. It was believed to be the male who went on the N-word rant.
