Former Husky star Brandon Roy (left) apologized to his fansfor appearing in a rap video that features marijuana.

“It’s a situation where I should have been more responsible and usually I am,” he said. “I didn’t know the guys that were shooting the video and I wasn’t participating in what they were talking about. I didn’t even know what the topic of the video was. For me, you know, I was trying to be nice and at the same time I don’t’ want to be part of something like that.”

Brandon said he was approached by Seattle-based rappers Cali & Cavalli to make a cameo in their video “What They Want,” but the Portland Trail Blazers star said he was unaware of the song’s topic until much later.

Former Husky standout Will Conroy also appears in the video.
