    There was a somber mood in downtown Newark when we spoke with locals about the passing of their hometown superstar Whitney Houston. Many spoke fondly of Houston’s “realness” and “down-to-earth” spirit. Some reminded us of her charitable ways. Others cried when they reflected on Houston’s life.
