Oprah homeless manRecognized as having a heart of gold, the humanitarian talk show diva Oprah Winfrey and her OWN cable network executives were having a creative meeting while dining al fresco at the super-posh Beverly Hills restaurant Scarpetta.  When a hungry homeless man approached her table and pleaded for a hot bowl of soup, true to form, she responded in a huge way, reports the New York Post.

According to unidentified sources, who also overheard the now cable TV mogul say “I wish I could green light everything,” Oprah put the brakes on her five-course meal when the vagrant approached her patio table and humbly asked, “Oprah, can you help a homeless guy get a bowl of soup, please?”

The mighty “O” quickly responded to the man’s request by stating, “Please, can we get him some money, get him a meal.”

The homeless stranger respectfully introduced himself to Oprah and told her his name was Eddie.  Oprah then looked at the man and told him, “God bless you, Eddie.”

One of Oprah’s employees then handed Eddie a wad of cash and then he was given enough food to satisfy his ravenous hunger.

Even Scarpetta’s chef Scott Conant was so impressed by Oprah’s generosity that he posted a link to the New York Post story on his Facebook page with the comment, “Wow!”  Most of Conant’s Facebook friends have also posted positive comments about the diva’s latest good deed.
