The 23-year-old breakout star is now trying to squelch the heated-up rumors that he and Kardashian are romantically involved with each other. For Lin, the “linsanity” that has taken on a life all its own as a ballplayer is enough to deal with let alone having a love life with Kardashian.
When ESPN’s Rachel Nichols exclusively interviewed the Harvard grad on Monday, Lin wanted to shut down any talk that he and the reality show star were dating.
“Stuff about me dating Kim Kardashian, I mean, I have no idea where that came from,” says Lin. “No, I don’t think I’m [Kim’s] type.”
The whispers actually picked up steam last week when a source told MediaTakeOut that Kardashian’s publicist set up the romantic rendezvous between Kardashian and Lin.
“She thinks [Jeremy] is cute, and she’s good friends with [Carmelo Anthony‘s wife] Lala. It’s going to be a double date,” the source told the urban news site.
As for Kardashian, she is in the throes of a divorce from another NBA player, Kris Humphries, after a 10-week marriage. After a brief courtship, the couple solidified their love last year with an estimated $2 million, 20.5 carat engagement ring followed by an over-the-top $10 million made-for-TV wedding.
According to RadarOnline, Kardashian desperately shopped around for a basketball player boyfriend to star on the January 2011 premiere of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York” before eventually settling on Humphries.
There are some who don’t believe this conspiracy theory about Kimmie, but who knows where the real truth lies. Word to the wise, Lin, use those Harvard smarts and stay far away from those citified vixens….
