Americans across the country are suffering from the longest government shutdown in history, but first lady Melania Trump will not even be slightly inconvenienced. A new report claims that Trump’s third wife is still flying in a government jet even after the president, citing the shutdown, stopped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from doing the same for her planned visit to American military troops in Afghanistan.

Politico writer Jake Sherman tweeted, “I am listening to air traffic control EXEC1F appears to be headed to Palm Beach. ATC just said they will have to do some serious vectoring to get the plane in line with the rest of the Palm Beach traffic. EXEC1F is typically the callsign for a plane with the first lady on it.”
The irony was clear. The president on Thursday told Pelosi, “Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over.”
Of course, no one from Melania’s team has responded, but this is one of the reasons why Melania “I Don’t Really Care. Do U?” Trump gets slammed in the press. Back in December, she whined to Trump’s BFF, Sean Hannity, about the hardest thing being the first lady of the United States, “I would say the opportunists who are using my name or my family name to advance themselves, from comedians to journalists to performers, book writers… The problem is they are writing the history and it’s not correct.”
She continued, “They like to focus on the gossip and I would like that they focus on the substance and what we do, not just about nonsense.”
The only people who are ruining her family’s reputation is her family. From meeting with Russians to porn stars to indictments to bullying to using taxpayer funds to fly during a government shutdown when millions of Americans don’t have enough TSA agents at the airport, her family is writing their own history of corruption. Clearly, the 48-year-old needs to take the advice of her “Be Best” campaign because this is not best.
