Around 200 members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans gathered at Georgia's Stone Mountain Park to celebrate Confederate Memorial Day and were shouted down by more than 100 counterprotesters.

Rev. Abraham Mosley will become the first Black chairman of the Stone Mountain Memorial Association Board of Directors and will be responsible for the images of Confederate leaders carved into the granite mountain.

A White power group held a demonstration at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. Anti-racism forces organized a counter-protest. The police made nine arrests.
