The autopsy of Rudy Eugene, 31, the Miami cannibal who was shot and killed by police after he was discovered eating the face of 65-year-old Ronald Poppo, did not have human flesh in his stomach, reports the Miami Herald.
Eugene had no human flesh in his stomach jibes with the crime-scene investigation, which found chunks of Poppo’s flesh on the ground, as if they had been spit out. The autopsy also revealed human flesh lodged between the teeth of Eugene, who did not have his two top front teeth, the law enforcement source said. Eugene is known to have lost his two front teeth in an accident as a child.
Police found a set of gold teeth in the pockets of his pants discarded on the causeway.
As previously reported by NewsOne, speculation was rampant that Eugene was under the influence of “bad” LSD that gave users super-human strength.

“He was literally eating his face, from the top of his forehead to his jaw is gone. He wasn’t only gnawing at it, he was swallowing bits of his face,” said Armando Aguilar, who heads the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. “This is about the fourth incident I hear already within our Miami Dade County area where these individuals have taken off their clothes and gone totally insane as a result of the drugs they’re taking,” he continues. “I don’t know if there’s any such a thing as good LSD out there but apparently this is really bad LSD.”
Aguilar said that the responding officer shouted for the man to stop, but he simply turned and growled at the officer and returned to eating his victim’s face. A witness confirms this version of events and fears of “zombie attacks” have taken root.
“The guy just stood, his head up like that, with pieces of flesh in his mouth,” says the witness. “And he growled.”

Eugene’s girlfriend, Yovonka Bryant, says that she had no fear of Eugene and felt safe in his presence:
“He would never leave without it, his Bible, and his Quran was always by his side,” Bryant said. “Eugene would place the Bible on top of the Quran on the passenger seat of his car.
“He was just figuring out the Quran. He just really picked up the Quran and was trying to actually get into it as he was into the Bible.”
Poppo is still recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he has undergone several surgeries to repair his chewed face. According to the Herald, the dead skin tissue found on the sidewalk of the attack could not be used. Poppo has not yet been able to tell detectives what happened.
